Inspections

The National Fire Protection Association recommends chimneys be inspected annually. This allows homeowners to stamp out most chimney fires and other problems before they become problems.

The NFPA also suggests chimney inspections immediately after chimney fires, whenever you convert the service of the chimney from one fuel source to another, when considering the purchase of a home with a chimney and whenever you suspect storm damage or a leaking chimney.

Chimney Cleaning

The best way to stop a chimney fire is to prevent it before it starts. We remove deposits that stay in used chimneys that can become flammable depending on their concentration.

Chimney sweeps also ensure fireplaces or stoves vent properly, reduce and eliminate chimney odors, remove blockages that could cause carbon monoxide to enter the home, and prevent wear-and-tear on the inside of the chimney caused by acidic deposits.

Stainless Steel Lining & Repair

We do stainless steel lining and repairs to make your chimney safer and meet NFPA 211 safety codes. This process involves installing or repairing a stainless steel lining that goes through the chimney. This helps keep your chimney cleaner and safer.

NFPA 211 Standard for Chimneys — standard for chimneys, fireplaces, vents, and solid fuel-burning appliances. NFPA 211 reduces fire hazards by ensuring the safe removal of flue gases, the proper installation of solid fuel-burning appliances, and the correct construction and installation of chimneys, fireplaces, and venting systems.

Insurance Work

We do chimney work inside our bulk of services for insurance companies. Insurance companies often needs service for inspections or new home purchases, or in the case of fires.

Chimney Caps

We provide and service stainless steel and custom chimney covers and caps. Caps keep everything out of your chimney that doesn’t belong there — rain, snow, animals, birds, leaves and twigs. That helps slow the deterioration of your chimney due to inclement weather and prevent blockages that could lead to a chimney fire. Caps also keep sparks from leaving the chimney and igniting fires on your roof and eliminate wind-induced downdrafts.

Leaking Chimneys

Crown Coating & Flash Sealing

Using ChimneySaver products (chimneysaver.com), we can extend the life of your chimney. Protecting the crown (top) on your chimney lessens the likelihood of leaks and water penetration. All crowns crack eventually from constant expansion and contraction due to temperature changes when your fireplace is in use. Our crown coat seals existing cracks and helps prevent the need for further, costlier repairs to keep your chimney and home safer.

Flashing is the material at the base of chimneys, stacks and vents. Faulty flashing can lead to leaks that can penetrate and damage surrounding structures. FlashSeal is designed to protect your flashing from related deteriorating and damage.

Waterproofing

Chimney caps and crown coating will go a long way toward keeping your chimney safe and functioning, but waterproofing your chimney masonry helps, too. Bricks can absorb water and wick it to the interior of your chimney, and defective mortar joints can speed that process.

Vapor-permeable waterproofing agents allow your chimney to breathe — letting water that has already seeped in escape — while preventing more water from entering from the outside.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

It is important to keep your dryer vent clean to keep your home or business safe. Faulty dryer vents are a leading cause of fires.

Animal Removal

Birds and other animals may see your chimney as a place to nest or as a warm escape from an oncoming storm or a predator, which is all well and good until additional problems arise down the road from having one or more uninvited living creatures in your chimney.

Call us to humanely keep the wildlife wild — which protects the animal, your chimney and you.
